Robotic cell - Leak testing

Mandate:

As part of the leak testing project for coolant tanks, the Systemex Automation team was responsible for designing and manufacturing a robotic cell dedicated to integrating "sleeves", performing leak testing and inspecting tanks manufactured by its client. Systemex Automation also performed the start-up of the unit at the factory located in the Eastern Townships. Thanks to this new robotic cell, the client was named Supplier of the Year by General Motors in 2012.

Technical requirements of the mandate:

  • 645,000 pieces per year
  • 125 hours of production per week
  • Cycle time of <55 seconds for two tanks
